Athletic Societies

1. There shall be an athletic council for the college called “The Marshaghai College Athletic Council” to promote sports and games among the students.

2. All degree studednts of the collage are entitled to be members of the council by paying to the council’s account, in the College Office, an annual subscription as determined by the Principal from time to time.‘

3. The Principal of the college shall be the ex-officio President of the Athletic Council.

4. There shall be an executive committee which shall consist of the followng members :

i) The Principal as the ex-officio President.

ii) Two to four members of the teaching staff nominated by the Principal one of whom shall be nominated as the Vice-President.

iii) The Physical Education Teacher.

iv) A Secretary to be elected by all degree students of the college. v) An asst. Secretary to the elected by all degree students of the College.

vi) Any other student member or members to be nominated by the Principal if he feels necessary in the interest of games and sports.

5. Election to the office of the Secretary and Asst. Secretary shall be held annually on such date and manner as the Principal determine.

6. Any member of the Athletic Council (+3 Ist. Yr., 2nd Yr. & 3rdYr.) are eligible to contest for the post of Secretary.

7. Students belonging to +3 Ist. Yr and 2nd year, Classes are eligible to contest for the Post of Asst. Secretary.

8. Terms of office and rules of impeachment for the Secretary and Asst. Secretary of the athletic council shall be same as that of the Secretary and Asst. Secretary of the students union.

9. The executive committee shall perform the following functions:

i) Shall consider the budget for the session

ii) Shall look into the day to day affairs of the council

iii) Shall promote games and sports among the students.

iv) Shall appoint sub-committee in such games and sports as the committee feels necessary.

v) Shall select captain and Vice-captain for each game as may be necessary.

10. The Vice-President shall perform the following functions.

i) Shall remain incharge of all accounts and all correspondence. ii) Shall act as Chairman of all sub-committees.

11. The Secretary shall perform the following functions.

i) Shall act as the convenor of all general and sub-Committee meetings.

ii) Shall prepare the annual report.

iii) Shall perform all other work as assigned to him by the Vice-President.

iv) Shall organise the college games with the assistance of the Asst.Secretary, captains and Vice-Captains.

12. The Asst. Secretary shall perform the following functions.

i) Shall remain ex-officio member of all sub-committees.

ii) Shall assist the secretary in his work.

iii) Shall take up the responsibilities of the Secretrary in his absence.

13. The functions of the PET shall be as follows :i) Shall maintain the stock book. ii) Shall look after the play grounds and sports equipments.

iii) Shall look after the programme of physical education.

iv) The P.E.T. shall remain an ex-officio member of all sub-committees.

v) To do all such work in connection with sports and games as Vice-President assign to him from time to time.

14. All decisions of the executive committee are subject to the approval of the Principal.

15. The funds of the council shall remain under the control of Principal Requistion for expenditure should be countersigned by the Principal.

16. No expenditure can be incurred without the approval of the Vice-president, who shall countersign all vouchers.

17. The Principal shall remain the final authority in matters relating to the council.
